In Our Own Words

Voted the 2010 Best "Children's Music Recording" WAMMIE Award by the Washington Area Music Association!  This new recording is called In Our Own Words because it features the best of the songs created with students during Sue's elementary school residencies over the past twelve years, as well as songs that she performs in school assemblies.  Even in students’ very first composing experiences, the process occasionally leads to truly artful results that deserve publication. This collection is a celebration of those inspired moments, performed by Sue and other professional musicians (including Hot Soup) and a children's chorus. The recording is targeted for elementary school aged children, but it's also a great listening experience for all ages!

Songs include: "Too Many Chores To Do Blues," "Little Red" (a dramatic, musical version of the Little Red Riding Hood story), "What Happened to Fred?" (Sue's environmental warning), "I Get the Blame," "It's Electric" (a science learning song), and Bill Harley's great story-song "You're In Trouble."
